ifeelthecosmos: Gerudo (Legend of Zelda cocktail)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Scotch Whiskey
3/4 oz Blood orange juice
3/4 oz Cherry Herring
3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
1 - 2 tsp Espresso
2 Dashes Angostura bitters
Directions: Brew espresso according to instructions, let cool. Shake all ingredients with ice.
A note from the creator:
A riff on the classic Blood and Sand cocktail. I recommend an extremely robust espresso brew to help cut the sweetness of this cocktail.

Qui Gon Gin and Tonic and Darth Maultini (Star Wars cocktails)
Ingredients:
Qui Gon Gin and Tonic-
1 oz Gin
2 oz Melon liquor
1 splash Lime juice
Fill with Tonic water
1 Lime wedge
Darth Maultini-
1 oz. Sweet vermouth
1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Whiskey (we used Maker’s Mark)
2 oz. Pomegranate Cherry
2 Lemon wedges, cut in half to make 4 mini wedges
Directions: For the Qui Gon Gin and Tonic, mix the first three ingredients in a highball glass and top with tonic water. Garnish with a lime wedge and, if possible, use a green glow stick as a stir. Drink and stray away from the topic of midi-chlorians.
For the Darth Maultini, chill and combine all ingredients in a cocktail glass. Cut two lemon wedges in half to make four mini wedges and garnish the glass with the “horns” of Darth Maul. Don’t get cut in half and come back as a spider.
These drinks were created and photographed by Mike and Drew from The More You Nerd podcast! I’m a big fan of the podcast and sent in a challenge for the team to create their own themed drinks, these being the results.
Mike and Drew invited me to chat with them during the podcast about The Drunken Moogle, Star Wars, and general geekery. You can listen to the podcast and find more about The More You Nerd in the links below.
