Yoshi’s Eggnog
(If complex recipes scare you, it’s okay! Just mix eggnog and bourbon to taste and skip to the last two steps in the directions.)
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup sugar, and a tablespoon
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
3 ounces bourbon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Green food coloring
Marshmallow cream
Directions:
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved. Add the milk, cream, bourbon and nutmeg and stir to combine.
Place the egg whites in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
Mix marshmallow cream with green food coloring until cream is vibrant green. Use a spoon or gloved finger to smear the green marshmallow on the inside of your eggnog glass like spots. Make sure not to use too much marshmallow when applying or the eggnog will quickly turn green as well.
Pour the eggnog into the spotted glass to see the Yoshi’s egg effect.

Bowser Bräu

Grimster, member of HomebrewTalk.com, brewed his own beer earlier this year.  After asking his son for help naming the beer, he decided to name it Bowser Bräu and have this awesome label made.  The beer comes in two variations, “Italian Stout” and “Plumber’s Crack Pale Ale.”

Looks great, Grimster.  Keep up the good work!  Thanks goes out to George for emailing about this cool creation.

The Rainbow Road Shot Challenge
The Drunken Moogle reader Mar and her husband submitted a combination of shots, meant to be taken together, called the Rainbow Road Shot challenge.
Each shot represents a monster in the Mario universe.  As the monsters get stronger down the road, so does the shot!  Participants start out with the Goomba shot and end with the flaming Bowser shot.
Goomba: Kahlua & creamKoopa: Mojito - light rum, mint, and simple syrup, with a mint sugar rimBoo: Vanilla infused vodka & non-dairy creamerThwamp: Blueberry vodka jello shot, with blue sugar rimDry Bones: Dirty Gin MartiniBowser: Thai bird chili & cinnamon candy infused bacardi 151, with cinnamon sugar rim (Light the shot on fire, but BE CAREFUL! Lighting the shot on fire is optional; The Drunken Moogle isn’t responsible if you burn your face off.)
Words can’t express how excited I am to try this!  Thanks again to Mar for creating and sharing this experience. Drink responsibly, Moogles.
