The Drunken Moogle

Drinking Quest 3 Crowd Funding

A while ago we enjoyed and reviewed Drinking Quest 1 and 2, a hybrid drinking game and tabletop RPG. While creator Jason Anarchy has been releasing small bits of information about a third installment on Twitter, the Indiegogo campaign is now official. Though the game will complete the trilogy, each is a standalone product and can be played in any order. From the information given, this installment will still have the light RPG gameplay that makes it easy to play while drinking and the witty humor that references popular culture. Good Guy Goblin, modeled after internet meme Good Guy Greg, is set to make an appearance. While the previous games’ art was in black and white, Drinking Quest 3’s use of crowd funding will allow all the cards to be full color.

The rewards range from physical and PDF copies of all three games, bottle openers, and the creator even writing you a poem. If you have $4000 to spare, he’ll tattoo your name on his arm! The crowd funding campaign began today and will be accepting pledges until March 18th. Check out the video above or the link below for more info.

From Dust for XBLA (2)
Expendables for XBLA (2)
Outland for XBLA (5)
From Dust for PSN (2)
Mad Riders for PSN (5)
To Enter: Simply comment on Loading’s Indiegogo page with a suggestion of what you would like to see at a gaming bar. You don’t need to donate, but it would be really great if you did! The bar still needs around $40,000 to open. The Drunken Moogle has also made a bet that if Loading’s Indiegogo project does as well as Double Fine’s Kickstarter did, I’ll drop everything and open a gaming bar in the USA, so there’s always that incentive! The drawing will be made at midnight EST. Contest winners will be contacted with a message through Indiegogo’s and will also be posted (first name, last initial) on The Drunken Moogle.

Loading in London - Indiegogo
In the past few years, more gaming bars and venues than ever before have been popping up worldwide. It’s great to see gaming culture meld with public social life. Gaming at home with friends is already amazingly fun and I’m excited to continuously see gaming culture expand outwards.
I’m thrilled to announce that James Dance, the owner of the existing Loading Cafe and Bar in Cornwall and creative mind behind themed cocktails such as the Portal 2 and Batman: Arkham Party shot set, is planning on opening up a gaming venue and bar in London.  The original Loading has found much success already and the new bar has the potential to be even better. Unlike many gaming bars, consoles will be able to be played for free. Internet access will also be free.
There will be wealth of unique affairs that happen at the bar, including industry supported gaming events. The result should provide a fun venue that can serve as a center point for the London gaming community.

I’m proud and excited to say that The Drunken Moogle will be actively collaborating with Loading on this project! I will be serving as a consultant and creating themed cocktails that will be served at the bar. Many others will be lending a hand as well, such as Daniella from Gourmet Gaming, who will be creating tasty themed foods. Gamer clothing company Insert Coin Clothing has even made some stylish Loading shirts for the occasion.

Even if you don’t live in the UK, check out the Indiegogo page and consider pledging some cash. If you do live in the UK, check out what fabulous perks you can receive for donating! We’re all very excited at the support given so far and hope you like what you see. For more details on the bar, who’s involved, and prizes, click the link below.
