So I have a certain love for alcoholic beverages that pay tribute to anything video game related. Whether it be a wine put out for a viral advertisement, or a fan made mix drink, I find them fun and interesting. This blog will be dedicated to these creative drinks and those who make them. Hope you enjoy!

The Drunken Moogle

A bottle of Metal Gear Solid wine. The wine is actually Andiera Cabernet Sauvignon, and a very limited number were given out to the game’s designers and business partners back at the MGS launch in 1998.

Earlier this year, there was a big viral advertising campaign for Bioshock 2. In one particular event, wine bottled that washed up from the fictional underwater city of Rapture “washed up on shore.” The bottles, unfortunately, contained no wine, but instead, three promotional posters. However, this is too cool not to mention.

Harvest Moon Beer
Last weekend I had the privilege of sitting down with my good friend and having a beer. The drink of the night was Harvest Moon, Blue Moon’s fall brew. While the beer isn’t named after the video game of the same title, it was enough for me to want to drink it. From my relatively short experience drinking beer, I’ve found I prefer ales over lagers most of the time. Though Harvest Moon is a pumpkin ale, I couldn’t really taste any pumpkin in it. However, it had a great spicy taste and a beautiful amber brown color. If you’re a beer drinker, or a fan of Harvest Moon, the game, I urge you to check it out at some point this fall.
