Donatello (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cocktail)
3 oz Plum Sake
0.5 oz Vodka
3 oz Grape Soda
1 dash of Cherry Bitters
1 Pizza Bite (Garnish - don’t let this fall in the drink!)
Cowabunga! Take a break from fighting the Foot Clan and settle into your sewer with this TMNT drink. This cocktail combines plum sake and grape flavors, with a touch of cherry. And of course, what TMNT post would be complete with without some pizza? Check out the Geek & Sundry Vlogs channel for more Turtle videos and geeky drinks.
Star-Lord (Guardians of the Galaxy mocktail)
1 habanero Pepper
1.5 oz Ginger Beer
3 oz Strawberry Orange Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice
Peter Quill, the loveable badass, is the inspiration behind this drink. I wanted to make something that packed a hard punch, but was still kind of sweet and I feel the ingredients convey his character quite well. The spicy habanero plays nicely with the pineapple and the ginger, giving this mocktail a strangely satisfying aftertaste. Check out the video below to see how to make it. If you’d like to add a bit of alcohol, I suggest a shot of tequila!

Kaneda (Akira cocktail)
.75 oz Maker’s Mark Whisky
1.5 oz After Shock
1 splash of lemon juice
Top with Club Soda
In this episode of Critical Hit Cocktails, I take a look back at Akira, the incredibly influential anime and manga from the 80s. The drink is powerful, spicy, and of course red.
The Aloha ‘Oe (Space Dandy cocktail)
3oz Passion fruit puree
1 1/2oz Pineapple Juice
1oz Dark Rum
1oz Southern Comfort
1/2oz Orange Curacao
2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Large cup of Ice
Directions: Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend for 5-8 seconds (you don’t want it too finely blended or else it will melt and dilute too quickly). Pour into a Collins glass and garnish with an orange wheel and a cherry (Optional: add dry ice for effect!)
