Capt Jack Harkness - Emergency Protocol 417 (Doctor Who cocktail)
2 parts Gin
2 parts Vodka
1/2 part Dry vermouth
1 Lemon twist
DIrections: Stir gin to chill and strain into a martini glass. With fresh ice, shake vodka and vermouth vigorously. Strain into same glass as gin. Take a lemon twist, rim the glass, and garnish. Sip and muse on the impossible.
A note from the creator:
At the end of the episode “The Doctor Dances” Captain Jack has his ships’ computer make him a drink. It appears to be a martini so I based this drink on a combination of a gin and a vodka martini. I feel this cocktail represents our suave captain in his purest essence. Jack Harkness is a classy man. He knows the value of quality and of simplicity, and everything he does is done with an air of elegance. A martini is exactly like that. It is simplicity, quality, and elegance in liquid form. This cocktail is all about the ingredients. I do not suggest making this with the cheapest spirits out there. I suggest mid-shelf quality. I used Absolut Vodka and Bombay Sapphire Gin (Gordon’s Gin is also good if you are on a budget). But don’t let this scare you away. It truly is a wonderful experience that you will not forget.

Sonic Screwdriver (Doctor Who mocktail)
3 oz Orange juice
1.5 oz Rose’s Blue Raspberry Mix

Doctor Who returns to TV next weekend with the 50th Anniversary special! It’s incredible to think about how a show could stick around and adapt as long as it has. As a giant Whovian, I had to create a drink to celebrate. There are many sonic screwdriver cocktails on the net already and I thought it might be time to create something that everyone enjoyed. Make sure to check out the rest of the Geek & Sundry Vlogs this week for other Doctor Who related content and if you like geeky cocktails (which I know you do) subscribe so that you can see more episodes of Critical Hit Cocktails with Mitch Hutts. Also, make sure to check out the link in the video comments for your chance to win some Doctor Who swag in a DW contest run by Geek & Sundry! Cheers!

A note from the creator:
So Like many of you i read Ender’s game in middle school. Obviously being that age I fell in love with that book. As time went on I read the book over and over and couldn’t wait to watch it on the big screen. So this weekend the movie comes out and we all here at EXP bar decided to memorialize the Wiggins children in martini form. because above all they need to be classy and fierce.
Locke - We made the Peter strong, with a nice burn, but a hint of sweetness with a slow bitter finish. A powerful blend with a hint of love for the first Wiggin child
Demosthenes - We made the Valentine sweet, warming, and a nice little kick to show her strong side. A loving sweet blend for the second Wiggin child.
Ender - We made the Andrew a perfect blend of sweet and strong. Not too fierce yet not too weak. A perfect blend for the third Wiggin child
So go out enjoy and hopefully the movie lives up to the book and we can celebrate with a Wiggin-tini!!
