Insert Coin(s) Videolounge Gamebar
While the arcade scene isn’t as big as it used to be in years past, gaming bars seem to be on the rise. Combining familiar classics as well as new favorites with an element of nightlife feels new, exciting and also nostalgic.
Insert Coin(s) opened this past April in Las Vegas adding yet another gaming bar to the growing list. Games from all generations are available to play, from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox 360. Customers can rent consoles, play arcade games, or reserve special gaming stations. The bar has a very club-like atmosphere. DJs provide music accompanied by stunning visual effects to the crowd and bottle service is available, if you’re feeling really fancy. If you’re looking to flex your gaming muscles the mass amount of arcade machines are sure to attract competition with games like Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, and Mortal Kombat. I wonder how many kill screens they get on the Donkey Kong cabinet?
It definitely looks like a fun place for a night out with friends. Hopefully this combination of social nightlife will attract some new people to the world of gaming and encourage more gamebars and lounges. And don’t worry about not having enough time to finish a game before closing- Insert Coin(s) closes at 6 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 4 a.m. on all other days. Next time you’re in Sin City and looking for some different types of games, check it out.
